I've been a fan of PA for a few years now, whenever things have gotten too stressful, I've gone to PA and read up the last few comics I've missed. I don't actually play video games myself as such, at least until StarCrack 2 "drops", is that how you say it? But I really like the authors' writing styles, and every once in awhile I get to sound like I totally know wtf I'm talking about when a conversation happens to veer towards gamery.
But I've always wanted to go to PAX (since I've known of it) if for no other reason than to be bathed in the light of that much computerized fun, and not be the nerdiest person in the room for three whole days.

From the ticket page:
"Five years, 37,000 attendees and 300,000 square feet later, PAX has grown from a small convention in Bellevue, Washington to the largest gaming festival in the Western Hemisphere. It's three days devoted absolutely to fans of games, industry insiders, and people who understand that play is important. PAX has become the destination event of the year, with tens of thousands of gamers celebrating their community and shared culture."
So now Rodney (http://www.rodneysramblings.com) and I are going! We're going to make a bit of a fuss about TriGalactic, give away some flyers and maybe cool schwagg.
If you'd like to attend spaek up.
In keeping with our official policy of sourcing all our schwag from hand-made artists, I'd like to purchase about $250 worth of polymer clay "cane" to be sliced into "pog" sort-of coins, with various cool patterns of space, sci-fi, and some sort of TriGalactic branding, maybe a stamp?
I'm totally open to other ideas, that's just what I came up with tonight.
A huge wave of eternal gratitude to JF who totally made it happen like magic. Wow that was neato.
And of course we'll be documenting the whole trip and blogging about it, oo, and all like that.
Sleep well and dream happy,
~S
